Bong....tonight in Downing Street

Another gloriously news free day. I don't mean the real news, you know, Portsmouth going into administration and the MI5's dubious detainment record. No I mean me related news.

Nothing to report.

Except today I got myself a wage slip. 4 to go!

The following jobs are now available: Derby University, Nottingham Trent University, Keble College, Oxford and Queens College, Oxford.

One thing I noticed was that most of the jobs now advertised have interview dates in April. They say that once a Vicar gets a job it takes a minimum of three months to move and start work. All of which means if I don't stay here, a period of unemployment is inevitable.

Pastoral support doesn't seem to be considered completely necessary by the university:

I hope you're applying for them though. Go, chaplain, go! And you'd still be able to start those in September, so just live on beans in the summer? Or start growing veg in the garden to eat? If you plant it now, you can harvest most of it by mid sept (that's what I did last year, though mostly I just grew tomoatoes and potatoes and lettuce)

You won't have to give any notice though if you have been told your job is no longer in existence.
All it would depend on is when the present person leaves the accommodation or the payroll.
Even then there is some scope for payments to tide you over from the occasional charitable fund held by many bishops.
